S&P 500 Index - The Center of the World's Financial Solar System
The S&P 500 index (SPY and derivatives) rose by 1.7% the week of the 27th of July. This week's pessimism following the news on the largest-recorded contraction in the United States' GDP was overshadowed by the better-than-expected earnings in the technology, real estate, consumer discretionary and communication sectors. The two best performing sectors this week were the Technology Sector and the Real Estate Sector.
SPY is continuing in its uptrend, however certain technical indicators continu to diverge from the price graph. The VIX is at the same level as it was the week before but can be very positive for the market if it completes its negative triangle configuration which would lower volatility and therefore push the market higher.

This week we bought micro contracts on gold for our clients with futures market accounts. Depending on the value of the accounts, we bought mulptiples of these contracts. We have not yet closes these contracts.
