Indice S&P 500 (le soleil financier de la planète)
The S&P 500 index (SPY and derivatives) fell by 3% for the week of June 22nd 2020. Covid-19 cases in the United States rised this week especially in Florida and Arizona. All 11 sectors were down. The Energy sector and the Consumer Discretionary sector had this week's worst performances.
SPY's chart completed a small M configuration this week and may potentially complete a larger M configuration if it drops lower than 295 points. Its EMAs are getting closer to crossing downwards indicating a potential correction. Meanwhile, the VIX closed the week at 35%. It's showing a potential M configuration and a downward cross of its EMAs which would make the market rise. There is therefore a contradiction in the behaviour of these two products. For the upcoming week, the US market will be closed on Friday the 3rd for the 4th of July.
