S&P 500 Index - The Center of the World's Financial Solar System
The S&P 500 index (SPY and derivatives) experienced one of the most volatile weeks in history resulting in a loss of 8.8%. The oil price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia worsened the already negative news due to the Coronavirus. Canada and the United States declared a state of national emergency and the Central Bank of Canada reduced the interest rates by 50 basis points for the second time this month. All sectors of the S&P 500 had a negative week. The Health Care Sector had the best performance this week with a loss of 6%.

The SPY (first chart) continued falling and even if some technical indicators are positively diverging from the price graph, with a VIX (second chart) at 58%, technical indicators and divergences are not reliable. Once the pessimism of the market is consumed, we are waiting for an eventual support level followed by a configuration in order to embark once again in the market.
VIP accounts (CKL0522 Portfolio with ETFs) - 2020/03/16
Week of March 9th 2020
Our strategy this week was to add an option strategy to our support product (SPY) that is currently losing in a opened position. This strategy is profitable if the product continues falling, remains at the same level or goes up until a certain price. We repeated the strategy twice during the week.
Weekly profit/loss on the closed positions:
First time: 763$ US
Second time: 903$ US
Profit on the closed positions: 1666$ US
VIP accounts (CKL0522 Portfolio on Futures Market) - 2020/03/16
Week of March 9th 2020
No activity in the futures accounts due to the high VIX.
